Nickel PTFE is an electroless nickel coating with polytetrafluoroethylene particles or PTFE, it is hydrophobic and oleophobic. Nickel PTFE surface is applied to interior and exterior of nozzle cores using a proprietary process. Cores are very hard, corrosion resistant, non-porous, abrasion resistant and resistant to wetting with good release characteristics. Appearance is frosted muted grey or a silver color.
Nominal coating thickness is about 0.0005 inch. Nozzle core sizes as small as 0.006 inch or 150 µm inside diameter are available coated using this process. To specify this coating add 04 to the coating designator.
